Train, practice and play!
Following on from yesterday’s e-mail about me being the slowest cook in the world… I want to talk about this article I read many years ago by Gray Cook.
It was discussed again quite recently in a podcast with the man and what’s reassuring is it rings true with how I go about my business.
Now… When you do something new for the first time such as an activity or an exercise… You kind of work it out yourself at first don’t you? You have a bit of a PLAY – > You get a FEEL for it – > And you LEARN what you can do well and what you can’t do so well
Then the work begins…
You start PRACTICING the bits that are harder so you can GET BETTER
And it’s at that point that you then start TRAINING
You start using the whole skill, exercise or activity to IMPROVE SOMETHING ELSE like your FITNESS or ENDURANCE or your BODY COMPOSITION
Can you see where I’m going with this yet?
Sometimes you need the input of a decent coach to give you the right opportunity to PLAY And then you might need their expertise to COACH you whilst you PRACTICE So you can SAFELY and EFFECTIVELY TRAIN in order to get the RESULTS you want
Do you want to find out how I can do this both ONLINE and IN-PERSON? REPLY with the subject ‘PLAY’ and I will get you all the details Joe ‘PLAY TIME’ Bullen
